There’s a grade in the HAC gradebook called Classroom Expectations that needs a little explaining. Everyone starts with 10 points at the beginning of the quarter. Every time you fall outside of the classroom expectations, you lose a point. You can go all the way down to zero, so you want to make sure that you know the rules and abide by them so that you can earn super easy points.
Below, you will find the main things that’ll cost you a point, but this is not a complete list. As new issues arise, the list will grow.
1. Coming into class after the bell.
2. Not being in your seat when the bell rings.
3. Needing to leave to get materials from your locker – mainly iPads, iPad chargers, and novels. I can loan you a charger, but it costs one point. And you do not have the option to not borrow a charger. It’s mandatory.
4. If I have to tell you to spit out gum. (Penalty is x3 if you lie and say you don't have gum and then I catch you with it.)
5. Not having a proper attitude for work. This means any time you put your head down on the desk, are leaning back in your chair, or are spinning in the tall chairs at the back of the room. This category also deals with not using your work time appropriately. You have to understand, you have no choice in this matter. You don’t pick when or if you want to work. You work, or you get consequences. There is zero middle ground.
6. Asking me what you missed when you were gone. You have to visit my webpage first because all the info will be there.
